The Imperial District of Freeport consists mainly of the buildings which house the various headquarters for organizations sent by Imperial Decree. These consist mainly of the College of the Five Colors, the Imperial Cartographers Guild, the Senatorial Exploratory Committee, and Imperial College of Alchemistry.
The Imperial Cartographers Guild and Senatorial Exploratory Committee reside within the spacious Governors Mansion, a large marble edifice built near the beginning of Freeport’s short and tumultuous history. Any new arrivals must report to the Senatorial Exploratory Committee for census registration, and the Imperial Cartographers Guild maintains a large map which is posted on the north side of the Mansion. An registered cartographers may update the map as they discover new landmarks, sites, and places of interest. The map is then regularly taken down with a fresh one posted, often updated with any new information from the previous map as well as notes from the Guild regarding further desired exploration and confirmation.
The College of Five Colors and Imperial College of Alchemistry share another building, the Old Jossi Home. While not as grandiose as the Governors Mansion, the Old Jossi Home can lay claim to being the oldest building in Freeport, originally a small cabin built by the explorer Andren Jossi when he first arrived at Eastward. It has since expanded into a sprawling campus with multiple labs and classrooms for students from the Empire who have arrived for conducting research or furthering their studies. The two schools have a large post in front of the Old Jossi Home which holds any requests from students to retrieve information, maps, or material components in the wilds outside of Freeport’s sturdy walls.
